During the mid 90s, PowerComputing was one of a number of third party companies who licensed MacOS System 7 for their own line of PowerPC Mac clones. Officials, Apple supported these models with operating systems up to MacOS 8.1 however unofficially they were able to run MacOS versions as late as 8.6 or even 9.0.
