‘…something distinctly different…’

Sony’s Trinitron was a brand of aperture grille-based CRT displays that were generally viewed to produce a better quality image than the rival Shadow mask technology. Though well received across it’s long existence, the Trinitron line would eventually be out-competed by LCD and other flat panel technologies, with Sony ceasing all world-wide production by 2008.
