‘Beenz meenz business’
Beenz was an early alternate digital currency and micropayment service. Beenz were primarily earned by performing online actions such as shopping, visiting a site, or using a specific ISP. These ‘Beenz’ could then be spent at certain online merchants. Startup capital came from a number of people and groups, including $5 million USD from Larry Ellison..
Beenz failed during the dot-com crash and ceased trading in August of 2001.
