‘1992 PC EXPO in New York’
New York Times coverage of the June 992 New York PC Expo predominantly focused on new computers from Compaq, both in the form of low cost ProLinea, Deskpro/i and Contura lines and also the premium LTE Lite 25c notebook.
The LTE Lite 25c notebook cost 4,999 in 1992 US dollars and weighed a slight 6.5 pounds…
Compute! Magazine 144, however, focused on the introduction of PCMCIA 2.0 cards and how, unlike version 1 of the standard, PCMCIA 2.0 cards were not restricted memory expansion but could also allow for ‘modems, ethernet adapters, and just about anything else.’
Other events at the 1992 New York PC Expo included a OS/2 2.0 & Windows 3.1 Performance Comparison…
